Usually we use soft natural hair brushes for water painting. The best quality is made of sable hair, but you can also get brush from squirrel hair and ox hair. The range of artificial brushes offered by the shops is usually made of nylon, and although they do not hold the paint as well as hairbrushes, they are excellent for fine details and are cheaper.<\/p>\n

For some techniques, synthetic is even better than natural! Available in a wide range of sizes and shapes from the wide spreading brush through the thin branch paint brush to the fan brush.<\/p>\n

Although water painting does not require a lot of brushes, in most cases three or four are enough. For practical reasons, a large flat-end brush is best for painting large surfaces and two or three different size round brushes. I think it’s worth trying a lot to find your favorite.<\/p>\n

It’s made up of a high ratio of color pigment and a solid white pigment such as chalk, plus gum arabic as a binding agent. Simply imagine as “watercolor, plus chalk.” That does oversimplify things a bit, but\u00a0it gets the basic understanding.<\/p>\n
Gouache has a lovely, heavy, velvety texture that absorbs light rather than reflecting it, creating a very smooth appearance. This makes it ideal for opaque coverage. In fact, gouache is sometimes referred to as “opaque watercolor.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
